Since 1948 P.G.B.T College, Banipur offered various educational courses in its  premises. This college was famous in West Bengal as P.G.B.T College. Earlier The college  was fully residential. Total student strength was 200. (Both Male and Female).From 1991-1992 this college has been transformed into a B.Ed college named as GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION BANIPUR. Presently this college offers only B.Ed course. This course is regular and of two years duration.  The total intake capacity of the B.Ed.course is only 50 students per year.

Eligibility

At least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences / Humanity or
At least 55% marks in Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics or other qualification equivalent thereto.
( Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PWD)
